During the Easter Holidays we had some very exciting pond improvements that have been carried out by an amazing local company called Layton Landscapes Plus who are based in Torbay. They very kindly donated their time, resources and materials extending the pond before the end of the holidays.
Since the pupils have been back they have taken the opportunity to explore the new and improved area. They particularly liked the bright blue mulch under the seating area which is made from old aeroplane tyres and gave the area some colour.
The pond liner was generously donated by South Devon Water Gardens LTD in Cherrybrook Square.
With the hard work and determination of Claire (Chestnut Teaching Assistant) who kindly donated the pond plants, the area is fast becoming a mini nature reserve. The pupils are being given the opportunity to encourage wildlife by painting the liner with live yoghurt which will encourage algae growth.
We can’t wait to see how the area develops over the next year or so, and once again a special thank you to those who donated their services and materials.
