Residential trips

KS1 – Start Bay, Slapton

5th – 6th May 2016

This year pupils from KS1 will be staying at the Start Bay Centre in Slapton.  The building is situated in a picturesque landscape, overlooking the sea, and has plenty of activities on offer for the pupils.  The accommodation on offer is comfortable and well laid out for large groups, and will be a great place for the pupils at the end of an exciting and busy day.

As we will be so close to the beaches, the activities we do are usually seaside or minibeast themed, which may include:

  • going on a minibeast hunt
  • Making pebble, shell and seaweed pictures
  • Making a sea or garden collage
  • Weaving with natural materials
  • Songs around the campfire
  • Making bread on the beach
  • Toasting marshmallows

The pupils will be leaving school on Thursday 5th May, and we aim to leave at 10.00am.  We will be back to school by 2.30pm the following day for usual bus/taxi home arrangements.
