Some of the pupils from classes 5 and 6 went to Start Bay House in Slapton for this year’s residential trip. After many trips there over the years, the staff have learnt all the best places to take explore with the pupils.
On the first day, pupils were tasked with searching out a range of seaside materials to given criteria. They hunted for shells, pebbles, sticks and greenery and sorted them into shape, size and colour groups. They finished the day around a campfire back at Start Bay House where they toasted marshmallows and sang songs before having dinner and heading off to bed.
The next morning, pupils were eager to try out the low ropes obstacle course in the garden, putting their balance and co-ordination skills to the test. They also played games, enjoyed some arts and crafts and had a picnic lunch together. They arrived back at school just in time for for the usual transport home.
While some of the pupils headed to Start Bay, the remaining pupils had fun back at school enjoying a range of Easter activities. They got to do some cooking and arts and crafts of their own and a different routine to their usual one to ensure the pupils at school had a great few days.
