Procedure for Snow or Extreme Weather

In view of the weather forecast over the next few weeks, we are posting this message to clarify the arrangements should we need to close the school, at short notice, due to snow or extreme weather conditions.  Wherever possible we will do our utmost to keep the school open.

Should we need to close the school we will alert parents by:

  • Sending a text message (please make sure we have an up to date mobile telephone number)
  • Publish a notice on the school website
  • Alert our local radio stations.  Heart (97-107 FM), Palm (105.5 FM) and BBC Radio Devon (103.4 FM).

We will monitor the situation daily and repeat the process each morning, if it is necessary to keep the school closed.

Where severe weather occurs during the school day, parents will be contacted directly by the school.  In this very rare instance it may be necessary for parents to collect their children or arrange transport.  School transport can be contacted on 01803 208242.

In case we need to close it is important that you make sure the school office is informed of any change of telephone numbers.

If you have received this via email – please save the email to refer to or if it came as a paper copy please keep it in a safe place.

We hope this information is helpful, should the situation arise.
