On 25th April staff and children from Classes 8, 9 and 10 set off for Heatree Activity Centre in Dartmoor. Once we had arrived and discovered our rooms we set off for our first activities. We were in two groups and were asked to get into our waterproofs. One group had fun on the stream scramble whilst the other group climbed on the low apparatus. We then went back for a delicious dinner then settled down for the evening. We all slept really well!
The next morning after breakfast we set off for more activities these included visiting the round house – living like a celt, making willow crowns, mixing clay and trying porridge. The second group went on the low apparatus and got very muddy! On the afternoon we climbed high into the trees on ropes or took to the water on kayaks. After that we had dinner and settled down to another night in our bunk beds.
The final morning was a very rainy day but we carried on with the fun trying bushcrafts, including a real fire in the round house or scrambling over rocks on Dartmoor. Then we had lunch and travelled back to school!
We all had so much fun at Heatree and enjoyed our special time away
