Advice to all parents – Single Confirmed Case at Mayfield School
Date: 24 November 2020
We have been advised by Public Health England that there has been a confirmed case of COVID-19 within our school.
We have assessed the situation and are working closely with Public Health. As a precautionary measure, we are asking some pupils and staff members to self-isolate for 14 days.
If you child is identified as a close contact, you will receive an additional letter with further advice. If you do not receive a letter, then you can continue to attend school as long as they remain well.
We recognise that this information can be worrying, but please be reassured that for most people, coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness.
Within the school, we have been operating a bubble system, undertaking rigorous handwashing procedures, and maintaining social distancing where possible.
What to do if your child develops symptoms of COVID-19
If your child develops symptoms of COVID-19, you should organise for your child to be tested via the NHS online portal or by calling 119. Your household should isolate until you receive the test results giving the all clear.
Please inform us if your child develops symptoms and is getting tested.
