It has been a great start to the year here at Chestnut. We have been developing our Forest School area, details of which are in the Autumn 1 edition of the newsletter. The pupils have really enjoyed getting hands on with their learning and being outside is a great way to do that.
Following on from that, some of our pupils have been developing their bike skills even further at the dirt track, learning how to manoeuvre their BMXs over the rises and dips, as well as around obstacles safely.
Palm class visited Paignton Zoo for their topic on animals. They looked in detail at the different habitats they need to survive and thrive. Trips like these are also a great and invaluable way to build on the pupils social skills as well as independence skills being out in the community.
Back at Chestnut other pupils have been busy in the kitchen areas practicing their cooking skills.
We hope next term is as busy and full of adventures as this one!
