200 Mile Challenge

Recently, pupils from Class 12 took part in a 200 mile challenge.  We would like to start off by saying a huge thank you to all of you who sponsored them, the response we had was wonderful!

The total raised from staff and parents reached an amazing £450, which will make a huge difference to the special needs children in the Nairobi slum.  Their classroom had nothing in it, but with the money raised we will be donating bean bags and chairs for them to sit on.

From previous fundraising efforts, we were able to help rebuild some of the school, provide a water tank and guttering, have a lockable room built, provide for 7 teachers to be paid each month for a year, and provided furniture for the whole school.  The 200 mile challenge was aimed at raising funds for one specific class of children who have the highest level of need.

The class teacher, Dawn, and others in the school, are committed to making a difference to the Nairobi children, and we have many fund raising activities going on throughout the year.  If you would like to know more, please contact the school.
